Hipper than Hip is a one-of-a-kind musical experience! 

Our Origin Story

We formed Hipper than Hip in 2015 with the goal of bringing back the classic sounds of great horn line bands.  We drew inspiration mostly from Tower of Power and then added Chicago, Earth Wind and Fire, Aretha, Tina, Stevie, Bruno, and more.  If they had a great horn line, and our fans would love it, we wanted to play their music.  Many of our members met at the age of 14, marching in Drum and Bugle Corps.  So horns and drums are in our DNA.

Three things to know about us...

First and foremost, we are friends and love each other.  That shows on stage. Second, we have fun on stage playing and singing some really great music together, but we are all pros and take pride in the performance of our show and doing a great job for you. Last, our audiences love us and the music we provide wherever we perform! That is why we do this!!

There's nothing like a large horn line, to blow your mind along with great percussion, and fantastic vocals. All of it makes for a funky great time!
